I work in the broader field of African literary and cultural studies, specifically within the context of Zimbabwe.

My main interests include gender and African feminism, as well as exploring what we can learn about everyday human lives through literary representation.

I am a Fulbrighter (Fulbright alumna), an Alexander von Humboldt Fellow (Humboldtian), and a Research Associate in the English Department at the University of the Free State.

Additionally, I am an active member of the English Academy of Southern Africa and currently serve as the president of the Names Society of Southern Africa.
