I work on the demographic and medical history of East Africa.
Current research focuses on the history of maternal mortality in western Kenya, and on the history of the family and family planning in central Kenya.
My previous research project focused on the early history of HIV.
I am part of a Swiss-led research group called FamiLEA (The Remaking of the Family in East Africa).
